CINCO DE MAYO!!
Here we go again VIP People!
Cinco De Mayo is this Sunday, May 5th. Here is most of what you need to know to be prepared for our biggest day of the year. As always, we will expand the amount of seating offered by raising tents in the back patio parking area and adding tables and chairs. The one downside to this is that we essentially eliminate half of our dedicated parking for the restaurant. So…. Uber or Taxi if possible! Otherwise there are parking spots for free up and down the alleyway behind VIP and it appears that the old Bank or America Building parking spots including the drive thru may be open for parking as well. Aside from that, there are some lots around that charge for parking. We do not own or have any affiliation with those people, and do not know how they run their rates, etc. Because of the extra seating and overflow of hungry, thirsty people, we offer a scaled down menu designed to ensure that we can quickly and efficiently produce a mass amount of food to tons of people. This means the absence of some very popular, delicious regular menu offerings. The menu will be posted, but the main omissions are Mexican Pizza, Fajitas, and Nachos Supreme. These items, as well as others, take much more time and space than others and would create very long cook times. Remember, we have a small kitchen that everyone can see, that has only one fryer and one grill. We appreciate your understanding. The “doors” will technically open at 10am to begin seating and serving DRINKS ONLY. At 11am, food will be served. We are serving drinks in Plastic Cups only. No fancy Margarita glasses, for anyone. Our main feature, the VIP House Margarita, will be made with Altos Silver Tequila for $4. There will be no “3 margarita limit” but be prepared to be cut off anyone is overly intoxicated. Avion Silver Margaritas will be offered at $6. These are two higher end tequilas that make for an amazing margarita. All Mexican Bottled beers will be offered at $3.50. Add a floater of Gran Marnier to any ‘Rita for $1. In addition, there will be other featured margaritas and shot specials. Just know that other cocktails not being featured may take a minute to get prepared. Throughout the day, there will be various liquor promos going on with free samples of their product to taste. You will have the opportunity to pose for a photo shoot in front of a large Cinco de Mayo VIP Backdrop, as well as take pics with your faces in our Cinco cut outs. Giveaways. Yes. There will be Giveaways. As in years past, we’ll have the Jenga Tower that has different tasks to complete. Depending on how embarrassing/funny the task is, the better the giveaway. Everyone wants a sombrero. We get it. But they are limited. So, don’t cry your way home if you don’t get one. There will be shirts and other trinkets being given out as well. This celebration doesn’t just start on Sunday. Other Cinco de Mayo related promos will be going on leading up to the big day. So, if you want to avoid the big crowd and still get your Cinco on, stop by any time leading up to it.
Hornitos will be coming by in the Party Trolley Tonight around 8-ish to sample some tequila.
Casadores will be by Friday. Maestro Dobel is coming Saturday.
